Her career as a model was going great guns, when Miss India, Pooja Batra decided to give films a chance. The decision seemed to have worked in her favour, as she was accepted quite well. Pooja Batra had a freshness about her in her first movie 'Virasat' with Anil Kapoor, she was very appreciated and made quite an impact both critically as well as with the masses. Miss India seems to have a way with people.

Her second film 'Bhai' with Sunil Shetty, was a runaway success and the girl looked poised for a really long run. Then the inevitable happened. Three of her films 'Saazish' 'Vishwavidatta' and 'Shyam Ganshyam' bombed one after the other and her carrer almost reached a standstill point. After lying low for quite a while she once again dazzled everyone in the David Dhawan movie 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' playing opposite Sanjay Dutt. The latest on Pooja's professional life however, doesn't look to bright she is apparently back to modelling and is showing a keen interest in doing ramp shows. She is also wanting to do television.
